Journey with us to the Land of Eternal Spring and the birthplace of the Mayan Civilization.  Experience a different side of Guatemala in the Western Highlands and meet with Impresarios. Visit the old Mayan cities of Momostenango and Chichicastenango.

Travel to Atitlan, the worlds most beautiful lake and enjoy authentic Guatemalan cuisine alongside our Field Workers. Beautiful mountains, old Spanish cities, perfect weather and adventure awaits!

Our tours involve FTF people on the ground guiding you alongside locals. Our local Field Workers will enable you to see the hidden parts of Guatemala most wont ever be able to see. SAMPLE ITINERARY

Day 1: Lake Atitlán

  • Arrive in the bustling capital of the country, Guatemala City.

  • Come to Lake Atitlán, considered by the ancient Maya as the meeting place between Heaven and Earth and also considered (by many) to be the most beautiful lake in the world.

Day 2: Lake Atitlán / Momostenango

  • Take a boat ride to Panajachel and enjoy the shopping, culture, and lake views from major city on the lake.

  • Make our way over to Momostenango deep in the Western Highlands and where the heart of FTF work takes place.

Day 3: Momostenango

  • Join IXIM (FTF Impresario) in a presentation about their work along with a rural Momos entrepreneurial exposition.

  • Visit the Momos market and explore the Mayan ceremonies that take place for the holy day Mam, a day that celebrates balance during the solstice.

  • Later that evening enjoy a Keipi dinner with Abraham, one of FTF’s very first Impresarios.

Day 4: Momostenango

  • Grab some flete transportation out to Chuinajtajayub - FTF’s starting place in Momos and site of our sister organization Health and Help.

  • Visit with Russians as they explain the medical challenges taking place in rural Guatemala, spend time with the local school and site of our immersionship and that night enjoy a dinner under the stars with volunteers from around the world.

Day 5: Momostenango

  • Come and visit with rural Impresarios attempting to bring water to a community of 80 people. Receive a tour of the area, visit caves used by the Maya for ceremonies, and take part in a big meal of caldo, a traditional Momos soup.

  • Take the night to rest and recover - trust us, you’ll be glad!

Day 6: Momostenango / Antigua

  • Say goodbye to Momos and hello to Antigua, the old capital of Guatemala and a fantastic colonial town next to the active Volcan Fuego (Volcano of Fire).

  • Relax and explore the old colonial town with its chocolate museum, craft breweries (Antigua style!), and fun nightlife with live music almost everywhere.

Day 7: Antigua / Goodbye!

  • A big breakfast with FTF before heading to the airport.

  • Say our goodbyes, thank the drivers, and get checked in to your flights back home!
